THE MUSA ADVOCACY

The Musa Fabric, woven by persons deprived of liberty in Davao del Norte, Philippines, has become a symbol of triumph and empowerment.

What began as a livelihood project during the onset of the pandemic in 2020 called The Musa Advocacy initiated by its founder Ms. Joy Soo, House of Musa has conquered the global stage of fashion, bringing recognition and hope behind bars and to the Davao del Norte Association of Designers Artisans and Seamstresses (DAMDAS) 

The PDLs work diligently in weaving intricate patterns and vibrant colors into each fabric. These weavers who have faced adversity and confinement, have found solace and purpose in this creative endeavor. With every thread carefully placed, they weave their own stories of redemption and second chances.

Esteemed designers from Davao del Norte and from around the globe clamored to showcase the fabric on fashion runways and photoshoots in the Philippines, USA, France, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Australia, Morocco, Singapore, New Zealand and beyond. Through the House of Musa Events under country directorships the Musa Fabric captivated the hearts of people worldwide, not just for its beauty but above all for its inspiring story. 

Extending its cause, The Musa Advocacy understood the struggles faced by women battling cancer. Thus, the Musa Pink Foundation was born. Through the Musa Pink Fashion Runway, this foundation demonstrates how a small project can grow into a powerful force for change through its dedication to helping women with cancer, providing a glimmer of hope in the midst of a challenging journey. 

As the Musa Advocacy thrives, it aims a stronger global network and platform for the sustainability of the Musa Fabric weaving industry.
